In this post, we present a brief overview of our recently published book chapter titled “The Effects of Humane Entrepreneurship on Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises’ Performance”

Small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) remain essential to the economic and social development of communities in both developing and developed nations. These enterprises generate employment, foster innovation, cultivate local entrepreneurship, and strengthen economic resilience. They contribute to overall quality of life by delivering essential goods and services to their communities.

Among the various strategies available to SMMEs, humane entrepreneurship (HumEnt) has emerged as a suitable paradigm for achieving favourable outcomes. HumEnt seeks to enhance quality of life through job creation while emphasising employee development and generating positive social and environmental impacts. It reflects the extent to which business owners and managers prioritise organisational competitiveness alongside human resource development, community responsibility, and environmental sustainability.
