Tic disorder (TD) is a neuropsychiatric disorder that begins in childhood and is characterized by tics as the main manifestation. The main clinical features are rapid, sudden, involuntary, repetitive, non-rhythmic single or multiple muscle movements and/or vocal tics. According to the clinical characteristics and duration of tics, TD can be divided into transient tic disorder (TTD), chronic tic disorder (CTD), and Tourette syndrome (TS) (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
